The Butler County ½ Century Bicycle Ride committee is excited to announce our second annual event is scheduled for September 30, 2017.  Our first ride was a success with 50 participants and we believe our second will be even better.  We had many participants who said they will ride again and bring their friends.

Through registration fees and local business sponsorships the 2016 ride raised over $6000.00 and donations were given to Blue Valley Community Action – Butler County, Butler Believes in Youth and Community and Butler County TeamMates.
Each of these organizations support youth and families in Butler County. The financial support will allow additional programming and services.

Mission and Vision
Our purpose is to provide a fun and healthy event while raising awareness and funds for the organizations identified by the committee.

Beneficiaries of funds
This year are:

Butler Believes in Youth and Community (BBYC): Our mission is to connect with Butler County youth to reduce at-risk behaviors.

TeamMateshttp://teammates.org/ -: TeamMates Mentoring Program was founded in 1991 in an effort to provide support and encouragement to school aged youth. The goal of the program is to see youth graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education. To reach this goal, youth meet one hour per week with a caring adult who serves as a mentor. Mentors are volunteers from the community who have dedicated themselves to making a difference in the life of a young person. Mentors give youth a sense of hope, purpose and vision. The TeamMates Mentoring Program currently provides a mentor for over 7,000 youth across Nebraska and Iowa, as well as in San Diego, California.

Blue Valley Community Actionhttp://www.bvca.net/-: Our mission is to overcome Poverty by Helping People, Improving Lives and Strengthening Communities. Community Action changes people’s lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities, and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.
